About me

I am Jacqueline Roon born in 1964 on the beautiful island Schouwen-Duiveland
one of the islands in the south-west of Holland.

Ever since I was little I loved to draw and paint, still got all my old drawing folder from primary school
Never stopped with it beacause it makes me feel very happy.
That happiness I share with people trough my mandala classes, workshops and artwork.

I went to art school in Amsterdam, and did several art classes in the town Goes
Gerda Dyviam Ulbrich teached me how to make mandala's in the eggtempera technique,
she was a student of the dutch artist Pieter Torensma.
On the Kolam school for art and communication in the town Zutphen,
I did my education for creative therapeutic and creative art teacher.
Tharpen Lingtsang and Andy Weber learned me how to draw and paint Boeddha's
As you can see a lot of different Disciplines wich show in my work.

To draw and paint in any form, brings me closer to myself,
it stops my thinking, for me expressing myself in a creative way is like meditation.
It brings me peace and silence. Trough my hands, aware and unaware images appear on paper and canvas,
the symbolism of these images give me an insight of the things that keep me busy, it makes me understand myself better
